FRAGES – FLUX OF GENERATIVE RESEARCHES
With this project’s session we wanted to explore within Granada the generation of patterns.
Inspired by the city with its islamic arts influences, we worked on the deconstruction of the logic present within the ornaments to create systems based on it.
When the systems are done, we can experience a huge amount of patterns, to see new forms emerging and apprehending their limits. Careful of our working process, the exhibition transcribes through the form of graphical objects as much the research process as the synthesis of the paths explored.
This open-source exhibition gives freely the results of this research and the creation code at the same time. It also underlines in its anarchic character, the ramblings linked to an experimental production.
RESIDENCY & EXHIBITION: Espacio Lavadero - Granada(ES)
Frages is a project in which we are deeply involved, it consists of free research dedicated to graphical exploration with the implementation of new working practice. The project aims to promote generatif and more generally the code practice as a visual creation process.
It’s also the occasion for us to extend our coding practice to new fields (print, web creation, mobile, AR) to experience new esthetical value.
In front of the ambivalence of digital practices within the current context, Frages is also an occasion for us to experiment with more reasoned practices.
Within this project we pay a particular attention to a free and open-source creation.
Each session of research leads to public restitution through exhibition.
Frages est un projet de recherche libre consacrée à l’exploration graphique autour de la pratique du code comme processus de création visuelle.

Cette session de Frages prend comme inspiration les motifs arabo-andalous de la ville de Grenade.
Inspiré par la ville et ses influences islamiques, ce projet vise à déconstruire la logique présente dans les ornements pour créer des systèmes basés sur celle-ci. L’idée est de créer des outils procéduraux de ces motifs architecturaux et ainsi pouvoir découvrir de nouvelles combinaisons de formes. Frages accorde autant d’importance à l’outil finale qu’au processus.

autant la recherche que la synthèse. En révélant sans hiérarchie toutes les pistes explorées, elle met en avant et valorise les divagations liées à une production expérimentale et met en lumière des objets curieux et originaux
Cette exposition open-source donne librement les résultats de cette recherche en même temps qu’elle en délivre le code.
